Kids Heart Challenge (Jump Rope for Heart)

Dear Parents/Guardians of Heart Heroes (K-5),

We are excited to announce our annual Jump Rope for Heart (Kids Heart Challenge) with the American Heart Association has begun. 

Children learn the importance of helping others through this service learning project.  Along with this act of volunteerism students can help the school earn money for Physical Education equipment and receive “thank you” prizes.  Below are some quick FAQs as to how to join this great program.

  1.  Who can participate?  All grades
  2.  What are my child’s options?
    1. Option A-  Raise money ON-LINE and receive prizes.
    2. Option B-  Raise money ON-LINE, receive prizes, and participate in our Jump Rope for Heart event Wednesday, March 6th from 3:30-5:30 pm.  (Space is limited and donations+permission slips must be turned in by Feb. 26th).
  3. What donations are acceptable?  Only ON-LINE donations are accepted. (No cash, No checks, No money orders)
  4. What dates are important?

-Feb. 8th (kickoff assembly)

-Week of Feb. 11-15th (Event permission slip)

-Feb. 26th- Donation packets (with a copy of your child’s donation report inside) are due.

-If attending the JRFH event March 6th, donations packet and fully completed permission slip form by Feb. 26th also.

     

  1. Who does my child turn the packet into?  Only Ms. Brown or Mr. Disimone.
  2. When are the prizes handed out?  During their PE classes.
  3. What is the website?  Heart.org/kidsheartchallenge
